A former member of the Daiwa Young Fishing Club has become the new Representative Director and President of Globeride Inc., the parent company of the global tackle brand. Kazunari Suzuki (55) joined Globeride (then Daiwa Seiko) straight from university 33 years ago as a salesman in the Japanese domestic sales department. Most recently he was Chief of the Sports Sales Division and General Manager of the Golf Sales Department.
Mr Suzuki replaces former President Akihiko Kishi, who moves into the role of Chairman and Representative Director.
“Starting in 2012, our company shifted strategies from defensive to aggressive and we achieved the target set in the Midrange Management Plan 2016,” says Globeride in a stock exchange release explaining the reasons for the change.
“As part of the next growth plan, we are in the process of making the Midrange Management Plan 2020. In anticipation of our future growth beyond 2020 we have decided [to make] this executive appointment in order for us to further strengthen the company’s management set-up.”
Mr Suzuki, who assumed his new role on October 1st, has held a number of different positions at Globeride, including Executive Officer and General Manager of the Domestic Fishing Tackle Sales Division in 2013.
