Airrus has restyled its Alano Power series and is offering a more versatile, powerful version featuring its Radial Matrix Blank.
The blank is powered by the Italian company’s Magma technology, which is a particular resin that offers incredible versatility.
Says Airrus: “The real advantage of this resin is that it increases the drag of the blank at both 45 and 60 degrees, giving the rod a powerful backbone.”
Airrus has shortened the foregrip size using a carbon fibre hood and has also reduced the weight in the most sensitive sections of the rod to provide better balance and remove any dampening of the action.
All guides on the Alano Magma rods will be switched to Fuji’s Slim Sic, while the Bora models will feature Fuji’s new Fazlite guides.
There are four, one-piece rods in the range measuring 7ft and 7ft 2in (both medium heavy), 7ft 3in (heavy plus), and 7ft 4in (extra heavy). Recommended line weights range from 6lb to 50lb.
Magma technology has previously featured in the company’s Ultra-X and Bora series of rods. For the more technically minded, Magma is a prepreg with characteristics including high torsional and compression resistance. The efficiency of the new material comes from its special polyacrylonitrile resin that optimises the performance of the carbon fibre.
