Top Japanese line manufacturer Momoi reports that the number of visitors to its booth at EFTTEX in Brussels was the highest for years.
As the company sifts through the many contacts it made during the European showpiece, its General Manager, Ken Harada, told Angling International that the quality of visitors has also been steadily improving.
“We used to start our business meetings with an explanation about our product line-up as an introduction to our company. But that is not the case nowadays. Some customers come specifically with items in mind that they want to talk about. That means the discussion goes smoothly and it tends to make establishing new business partnerships that much easier than before.
“That, along with the number of visitors to our booth, made us really happy with this year’s show.”
Harada says that Momoi has not received any concrete orders as a result of its appearance at EFTTEX, but he adds: “We do believe that we can find new partners in several markets.”
Since entering the European market in 2007, Momoi has established itself in the region and Harada says that the show is as much about getting feedback on product development for the sector as gaining new partners. “Since we are based in Japan, getting information and advice from our European customers is very important and helps us develop new products and services.
“We believe that we have a duty to continue to develop high quality products that involve advanced technologies and EFTTEX gives us a chance to showcase that.”
