UK carp brand Rig Marole has been sold back to its founder by Marukyu Europe.
Rig Marole, which specialises in end tackle, was the Japanese-owned bait company’s first acquisition when it bought the business in October 2014. It had previously been owned by Nigel Harris, whose services were retained by Marukyu in the deal.
Marukyu had hoped that investment in the company would generate new opportunities in Europe, but the brand failed to become a part of its core strategy. Harris, together with business partner, John Paine, has re-acquired the business and says they have exciting plans for its development. The brand will have a booth at the Northern Angling Show in Manchester on February 24th and 25th.
