Mann’s Bait has combined the experience gained through its long history with a propensity for coming up with new ideas to become one of the best-known lure manufacturers in the US and beyond.
The Alabama business was reportedly the first to break the 20-foot depth barrier for crankbaits with the Depth Series 20+, surpassing that some years later with the E-Z Crank 30+.
Now Mann’s has gone deeper still with the introduction of the Big 4-0, the first 40+ foot crankbait in the market.
“This is not a trolling bait, but rather a traditional throw and crank style hard bait,” explains Mann’s Scott Wall. “It gets down to where the big bass hide.”
Featuring the same patented lip design as previous deep diving lures from Mann’s, the new model is the biggest lure in the company’s DL (Deep Ledge) series. It is 6.5 inches long, 1.75 inches across the front and weighs in at just over 2.5 ounces.
The lure is certain to prove popular with ledge anglers fishing for those bass that go deep because of thermal conditions or to search for food.
Like the other lures in the DL collection, the Big 4-0 undergoes a 30-step custom paint job and has platinum black premium 2/0 trebles.
Most of Mann’s lures are made in America and are distributed nationally and to over 50 countries around the world.
