As well as five anglers who have qualified to fish the Bassmaster Classic, US manufacturer, Lew’s Fishing Tackle, will also have an army of 21 top-tier fishermen at the Expo.
Among the star-studded line-up on the booth will be seven previous Classic winners, including Hank Parker, David Fritts, Paul Elias, Guido Hibdon, Dion Hibdon, Jay Yelas and Cliff Pace alongside four FLW Forrest Cup titleholders.
Gary Remensynder, Lew’s President, said: “The Bassmaster Classic is the largest consumer show we attend each year. It is a significant spend when you consider all the costs, but it gives us branding, positioning and visibility opportunities. We actively engage all booth visitors to make their time with Lew’s a positive experience and approach each one as a potential customer. We view response to our products as a good barometer as to the strength of our brand.”
The company will be showing off the new products it introduced at ICAST last year, as well as its brand new Super Duty Wide Spool baitcast reels.
Its participants in the Classic are Jason Christie, Mark Davis, Bill Lowen, Chad Morgenthaler and Marty Robinson. “All of our guys are great anglers and competitors – each has a legitimate chance of winning,” adds Remensynder. “Of the group, Christie is from Oklahoma and has significant experience on Grand Lake. He’s also one of the most versatile anglers when it comes to springtime fishing in both open water and shallow cover. His local knowledge definitely gives him more of an advantage than usual in this Classic.”
