The .44 Special is the latest addition to the eye-catching Dawn Patrol series, made to Smith & Wesson bullet casing specifications by Florida company Legend Lures.
This finely balanced four-inch model has been designed by the Legend Lures team led by Roddy Hays to replicate a myriad of baitfish species throughout the world. It incorporates all the features of the popular .38 Special, but has a little more body and weight.
The .44’s subtle, erratic movements and six colour patterns make it an excellent choice for tuna, mahi mahi, kingfish and wahoo, says the maker. It can be trolled, cast or jigged and the skirt can be trimmed to the required length.
Features include a corrosion-proof, nickel-plated casing for the main body, BaitShine tape with integrated eyes, extreme flash, supple skirt for colour, bulk and body and a soft tube insert for knot, crimp or hook lock.
The .44 Dawn Patrol lures are inspired by and made to the specifications of the .44 bullet casings introduced in 1907 for the Smith & Wesson Century line of revolvers.
