The UK’s largest distributor of fishing tackle has struck up a partnership to sell its products in the Benelux countries.
The full ranges of Leeda and Wychwood tackle are now being handled by Poseidon, a distributor and wholesaler of fly fishing and related products based in the Netherlands. The company currently deals with over 30 brands, including Wapsi, Eumer, Vosseler, J:son and Frog Hair.
Its owner, Bert Vosters, said: “Both brands offer tremendous value for money and that is exactly what the market is looking for. While Leeda has some really good products at entry-level pricing, the Wychwood range of products is top quality, innovative and stylish but still very affordable. That is an unbeatable combination.
“Our dealers are enthusiastic about both brands and we have already got off to a great start so I am convinced it will be a successful partnership.”
Vosters told Angling International that the deal came about following an inquiry to Poseidon about a certain type of landing net by Leeda Head of Sales, Martin Kelly.
Vosters said: “We helped him with that and afterwards Martin expressed his satisfaction with our service and speed. He added that we should have a discussion about Poseidon selling Wychwood/Leeda fly products. I called him and within a few days the deal was done.
Kelly added: “We are really pleased to have Poseidon on board. Bert and his team are well known throughout the Benelux market and the interest so far from dealers has been outstanding.”
