Korkers branches out into apparel at IFTD

Korkers, the outdoor boot manufacturer best known for its interchangeable sole system, branched out into apparel at the IFTD trade show in Orlando.
The initial collection features short and long sleeved T shirts and headwear, displaying the company’s new ‘Drinking Fisherman’ logo.
“Customers have been asking for apparel and other fun ways to support the brand. The new logo is a creative way to add visibility and extend the brand from the foot all the way up to the head,” said CEO Brian Chaney.
Korkers’ Creative Director on the project, Rick Gilbert, said the idea for the logo came from watching people on the water. “It’s obvious there is a connection between drinks and fishing, whether it be an ice cold soft drink or beer, or a scotch at the end of the day. I thought a logo that tied the two together with the Korkers brand would be a light-hearted way to add visibility.”
Also attracting people to the Korkers booth was the Portland, Oregon, company’s new Ambush and Greenback wading boots. For the Ambush, Korkers teamed up with Mossy Oak camo designs to make the first premium camo stockingfoot wading boot.
The boot has an EVA midsole, protected stitching and a 3D moulded heel cap, along with internal drainage channels to reduce excess water and promote faster drying.
“This is another industry first from Korkers, a branded camo wading boot with premium quality and features,” said CEO Brian Chaney. “Before now the market lacked a wading boot made to work in conjunction with stockingfoot waders.”
The Greenback, says Korkers, offers ‘incredible value’, with features like moulded EVA midsoles for cushioning on long days and large drainage ports that flush water out of the boot at every step. “We are delighted to reach customers with this economical starting price point of $99,” said Chaney.
Both the Ambush and Greenback models feature Korkers trademarked Omnitrax interchangeable sole system, allowing them to be customised for specific conditions.
