Jeff Kolodzinsk, Brand Manager at Johnson Outdoors marine electronics giant, Humminbird, will tomorrow begin an attempt to break his own record of catching more than 2,143 fish on hook and line.
‘Kolo’ originally created history in 2011 when he recorded the catch during a 24-hour period. His latest exploit is being attempted to introduce people and families to fishing and to increase awareness and financial support for Fishing for Life, a non-profit charitable organisation whose Next GEN programmme finds mentors for children of families in need.
A special focus of the initiative serves families of U.S. veterans who have lost loved ones while serving the nation.
Not only is Kolo the current world record holder for fish caught in a day, he also represented the United States seven times in international competition at the World Championship of Freshwater Fishing.
The attempt will take place at the Giant Goose Ranch, in Canton, Illinois.
