Ken Brewster is to leave his position as Commercial Director of Pure Fishing UK.
He will be replaced at the company by John Henderson who will take over as Head of Sales for the UK and Ireland.
Brewster spent six years as Sales and Marketing Director with Hardy & Greys before it was acquired by Pure Fishing in July 2013. He remained there for another 18 months under the new ownership.
“I decided I needed a fresh challenge,” said Brewster, whose last day with the company will be January 16th.
The following week he will start a new role, as UK Sales and Marketing Director for Husqvarna, a garden and forestry machinery company. “It’s a move back to my roots with Black and Decker [power tools],” he told Angling International.
Prior to joining Hardy & Greys, Brewster had been National Sales Manager at both Barbour and adidas UK. He was appointed to the north of England tackle company by then Managing Director, Richard Sanderson, who had also worked at Black and Decker.
John Henderson started his career in the fishing industry in 1996 with Greys of Alnwick and stayed with the company when it became part of Hardy & Greys and later Pure Fishing. Starting as a rod builder, Henderson has held several sales and marketing positions within the company, including 11 years as a key account manager. He is currently Brand Business Manager at Greys.
“It is a huge pleasure to be given the opportunity to move back into sales – fishing has always been my passion and being able to work with the highly regarded portfolio of brands at Pure Fishing gives me great satisfaction,” said Henderson.
“We have a great team of people here and I can’t wait to get started in my new role.”
Pure Fishing UK Regional Director, Grant Harris, said: “I am delighted to welcome John back to the UK sales function – he brings a huge amount of technical and commercial experience, which will certainly prove invaluable to the business.”
