Kayak maker to create 250 jobs in $6.5m expansion

One of North America’s top manufacturers of kayaks has announced a $6.5 million investment programme that will create 250 new jobs.
Jackson Kayak, Based in Nashville, Tennessee, is set to open a new 300,000sqft facility that will triple the size of its current premises and enable it to expand its manufacturing operations, bring in currently outsourced processes and house a new research and development centre.
“Jackson Kayak is one of our state’s great success stories,” said Tennessee Economic and Community Development Commissioner, Randy Boyd. “They started from a small operation and have continued to grow thanks to a reputation for making the absolute highest quality products which are popular all over the world.”
Jackson Kayak’s President and Owner, Eric Jackson, said: “We are looking forward to the next chapter in White County with our new 300,000sqft facility where we intend to continue to grow the business and workforce.”
Jackson Kayak, which makes an extensive range of fishing craft for all types of waters, anticipates a doubling of its sales over the next five years.
