KastKing®, a division of Eposeidon Inc., has introduced a low profile baitcasting reel – the Assassin – made with carbon matrix construction body, sideplates and a carbon fibre handle for extreme weight savings, corrosion resistance and added rigidity.
At 5.7 oz (163.5 gr), the Assassin is lighter than the company’s bestselling KastKing Stealth, which weighs just under 6 oz. Its five drag discs are also made of carbon fibre that generates smooth, fade-free 16.5 lb (7.5 kg) of drag power.
“The KastKing Assassin once again represents our commitment to make high technology, yet affordable fishing tackle products, available to anglers around the world,” said Tom Gahan, Marketing Director at Eposeidon. “The all carbon-made Assassin, which includes optimum features at a price point below $60 (US), is set to be another bestseller for KastKing.”
The Assassin also features six-pin centrifugal and magnetic dual brakes, durable 11 + 1 shielded corrosion-resistant ball bearings, hard anodised aero-grade aluminium spool and powerful, precision matched 6.3:1 ratio brass gears.
Saltwater fishing approved, it is finished in Midnight Black and is available in right or lefthand models. It comes with a year’s warranty.
“Don’t confuse the Assassin sub-six ounce weight as being underpowered or its price reflecting an inferior reel,” added KastKing Angler Consultant Darcy Hill. “We proved that during development work and testing on the Stealth. It cranked in one good fish after another and survived the tasks with zero maintenance. The same manufacturing practices were used – and improved on – to create the Assassin.
“it has been developed to meet the needs of anglers who want a powerful, lightweight reel that reduces fatigue and has superior saltwater durability.”
