The Jarden Corporation’s Outdoor Solutions segment, which includes its Pure Fishing subsidiaries, saw a drop in its nets sales in the fourth quarter compared to the previous year.
Outdoor Solutions – one of the world’s largest portfolio of outdoor brands – saw its net sales reach $617.8 million during the period, compared with $617.9 million in 2012.
The segment reported an operating loss of $1.9 million after spending $10.3 million in reorganization costs. Acquisition and integration-related costs also took its toll and amounted to $25.1 million – compared to zero in 2012.
However, the flat performance of a sector that includes the likes of Pure Fishing’s Berkley, Shakespeare, Mitchell, Sebile and the newly acquired Hardy & Greys brands, did not stop Jarden reporting record fourth quarter net sales of $2.2 billion.
