Japan’s fishing tackle trade is in good shape if attendance figures for the country’s two major consumer shows are anything to go by.
Almost 54,000 visitors thronged to last month’s Osaka Show, while just a week earlier the Japan Fishing Show in Yokohama attracted a little over 38,000 people. Both figures are up on last year.
Organised by the Osaka Fishing Tackle Association at the Intex Osaka exhibition venue, the Osaka Show took place over three days and was themed on ‘waterside dreams and dramas’.
The Japan Fishing Show, otherwise known as the Yokohama Show and organised by the Japan Fishing Tackle Manufacturers Association (JAFTMA), improved on last year’s attendance by an impressive 10%. The three-day event occupied around 20,000 square metres of floor space in Yokohama’s Exhibition Hall.
Companies exhibiting at both events included Shimano, Daiwa, Dohitomi, Evergreen, Fuji Kogyo, Gamakatsu, Hayabusa, Marukyu, Meiho, Rapala Japan, Sasame, Tenryu, Winn Grips and Daiichiseiko.
