Jacques Prallet, Director General of Pure Fishing Europe for the past six years, has announced his retirement. He will be replaced by Grant Harris, who will take on responsibility for Europe alongside his role as Managing Director of Pure Fishing in the UK.
Prallet’s career in the fishing industry began in 1989 when he left the toy trade to join Mitchell Sports as Export Manager. A year later Mitchell was taken over by Johnson Worldwide Associates (JWA).
When Pure Fishing subsequently acquired JWA in 2000, Prallet was appointed Export Director for Europe and Latin America, with France and Italy also becoming part of his remit in 2006.
In 2010 current Pure Fishing CEO, John Doerr, appointed Prallet as Director General of the company’s European operations.
“Working with industry figures like Tom Bedell, Alistair Thorburn, Steve Henick and John Doerr has been a great experience,” said Prallet. “It was exciting to be in at the start of Pure Fishing’s operation in Europe and to be given so many opportunities. I will miss the industry, but I can look back on a very rewarding career.”
Prallet has also been an active member of the EFTTA Board since 2005.
