Kistler’s new KLX Feel-N-Reel rods are the first in the industry to use S2 Hybrid Blank Technology, says the Texas, US manufacturer.
This 2017 series has been developed using North Fork Composites, with the S2 material being blended with T800 high modulus graphite to produce a blank that offers both the advantages of fibreglass and the benefits of graphite.
The rods have been designed specifically to tackle the problem of lost fish. “Innovations such as ultra rigid graphite rods, zero-stretch lines, high-speed reels and surgically sharpened hooks provide great advantages,” says the company.
“But problems arise when these technologies are combined, often leading to torqueing the hook out of the fish’s mouth, premature hook sets and lost fish. And sometimes you only get one shot at that trophy fish.
“Slowing down the action and softening the power of the blank allows the fish more time to take in the lure before the angler sets the hook. And ounce for ounce, S2 blanks weigh no more that pure graphite blanks.”
The soft/moderate action bait fishing rods are enhanced with Kigan Macro Z tangle-free, stainless steel guides, Fuji exposed reel seats and Kigan Hook Lock bait keepers. The series includes 13 casting models and two spinning models.
