Indonesia’s Relix looks closer at growing domestic market

Rivai Susanto says the Indonesian market is growing and represents potential for Relix.

Indonesian fishing tackle manufacturer, P.T. Central Sarana Pancing – owner of the Relix and CarpLinq brands – has announced plans to concentrate more on its domestic market.

During a break at the China Fish show, the company’s Rivai Susanto told Angling International: “The Indonesian market is growing and presents a lot of potential. With a population of 250 million, it is fourth in the world behind China, India and the United States. Of that number three to five percent are anglers, so it makes sense to grow a market that we know and are close to.”

Susanto added that the company was making a concerted effort to develop new products for the varied types of fishing in the region and has employed experienced anglers to help it in its quest.

“Because it is such a big country there are so many different styles of fishing and we will be working hard to improve gear for all the techniques.”
