For the third year running, ICAST has been named among the fastest growing trade shows in the US.
The American Sportfishing Association’s (ASA) event has been recognised by the Trade Show News Network (TSNN) as one of the 25 fastest growing trade exhibitions in the US by square footage. ICAST is now the world’s biggest event of its kind and this year attracted more than 12,000 representatives from the global fishing community to Orlando, Florida.
An award from TSNN was presented to the ASA at its annual awards conference and gala at the Atlanta Convention Center.
“In this category, the show winners were chosen by their growth rate of net square footage between 2012 and 2104,” said TSNN President and Editor-in-Chief, Rachel Wimberly.
ICAST Show Director Ken Andres said: “Our industry’s trade show continues to grow in size and impact, both domestically and internationally. It reflects the strength of the sport, the industry and our member companies who exhibit.
“However, the show’s floor growth is also an indicator that other manufacturers outside fishing tackle and gear – such as apparel and other related products – are noticing the growth and want to introduce their products to ICAST visitors.”
Two weeks ago, in Communiqué Online, Andres revealed that it was partnering with the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) to introduce a Marine Pavilion at ICAST next year. Boats and boating accessories from companies belonging to the NMMA will be on show in a special section set aside at the event.
“The constant uptick in attendance is also a direct result of our value-added efforts which includes incorporating new elements, such as on-the-water product demonstrations, an industry bass fishing tournament, golf/fishing competition and an expanded business seminar schedule,” added Andres.
