‘The Bass Professor’ – Doug Hannon – is an ICAST veteran with more than 30 years experience of the American showpiece.
And he will once again be centre stage at the 2012 event in Orlando where he will be showing off his patent-pending MicroWave Guide System by American Tackle which many say will change the way we all think about spinning rod guides and spinning rod performance.
Russ Riley, Vice President of WaveSpin Systems, said: “The MicroWave Guide System takes spinning rod performance to a completely new level, providing a smoothness and sensitivity never before found or felt in spinning gear – as well as increasing casting distance.”
The WaveSpin brand has had a booth at ICAST since 2006 and will be complementing the MicroWave Guide System at the show with its own patented reels, including some under $50, that all guarantee a tangle-free performance and improved casting.
Riley added: ”We always look forward to ICAST and are expecting an outstanding show this year. We meet great people and have a great time – what could be better than that!
“It also provides a common ground for discussion on important issues as well as providing the media with a place to see and learn about many products in one location.
“ICAST and other shows are important to any company. However, with modern technology in marketing, they are not as vital as they once were in getting the word out about a product or company.
“But it does give people the opportunity to meet, shake hands and look each other in the eye – and also allows you hand-on experience of new products. The latter is something I feel is highly important and always will be.
“We gauge success by how many new people we meet in the industry and the feedback we get in the first couple of months after the show.”
