It’s all happening at ICAST – even though the world’s biggest fishing tackle trade show is still more than five months away.
The huge gathering of manufacturers, buyers and media is moving location within Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center, a new casting pond has been introduced and registration for the show opens on February 5th.
ICAST is transferring from the West Building, where it has been held since the show moved to Florida in 2014, to the North/South Building, where the ‘ICASTing Pond’ is being installed so that visitors can try rods, reels and lines without leaving the show floor.
The American Sportfishing Association (ASA), which organises the event, says the show will be easier to navigate, with the On The Water exhibition and adjacent ponds situated right outside the North end of the building.
The Association is also providing a shuttle service to and from the ICAST hotels that are not within walking distance of the North/South Building.
Although the three-day exhibition opens its doors on July 11th, the day before – which includes On The Water, the ICAST Cup Industry Bass Tournament, the Bass & Birdies Golf Tournament and the New Product Showcase reception – is considered an integral part of the ICAST experience.
ICAST will again partner with the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) to host the Marine Accessories Pavilion, and will co-locate with IFTD for the final time before the fly event moves to Denver, Colorado in 2019.
