ICAST award winner hires marketing expert

ICAST 2013 award winner, 13 Fishing, has hired one of the industry’s top marketing companies to promote its gear.
Based in Tampa, Florida, 13 Fishing caught the attention of the media last year when it won the combo category in the New Product Showcase at ICAST in Las Vegas with its WhiteOut ice fishing combo. It is now looking to build on that success and has recruited Chip Leer and Fishing the WildSide to help with its development and marketing.
Drawing on more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience in the fishing industry, Leer and his company will promote brand awareness among northern anglers across a variety of media channels. He will also help in developing new 13 Fishing products for northern multi-species anglers.
“We are extremely excited to add Chip to Team 13 and we think his knowledge and enthusiasm will drive our brand and that of our sister company, No.8 Tackle, to the next level,” said Business Manager Matt Baldwin.
“I love 13 Fishing’s perspective of not following the norms, but pushing the limits of technology to create their own trends,” said Leer. “This company brings across-the-board parallel thinking of what serious anglers need from their equipment.”
