For more than half a century the world has known the Heddon Spook as the original walk-the-dog topwater and – despite countless copies – none captured lightning in a bottle like that original Zara Spook.
Now anglers can add another version of the fish-producing lure to their tackle box with the Chug’n Spook.
It features a precisely designed concave face that doesn’t affect the walk-the-dog retrieve – so its chugging and spitting while it’s in action. Add in a big One Knocker rattle and ‘we’re talking a mega-attraction radius’, says the Fort Worth, Arkansas, maker, Heddon Lures.
The company adds: ‘The Chug’n Spook’s open mouth spits loads of water and creates enormous surface action, while the One Knocker rattle bangs on the door with every twitch. Despite the addition of the spitting mouth, the Chug n’ Spook still walks-the-dog with ease, creating that hynpnotising action that predator fish cannot resist.
“It comes in both freshwater and saltwater versions so bass fishermen and those going after inshore beasts like giant redfish and stripers have one that is perfect for the situation.”
The saltwater version features #1 2X Saltwater Hooks, while the freshwater model has #2 XCalibur Tx3 hooks. It comes in 26 colour patterns and has an MSRP of $6.99.
