Hardy & Greys and Sage reign supreme
Two of the world’s most iconic rod makers are celebrating after scooping top awards at EFTTEX in Amsterdam.
Sage, part of FarBank Enterprises, won the Best Fly Rod Award, while UK-based Hardy & Greys was successful with its Hardy Marksman Supero in the Rod category.
Hardy & Greys International Sales and Events Manager Andrew Sowerby said: “The panel obviously understand the work that went into producing this product. They realised that the action of the Supero is unique.”
Sowerby added: “We have high hopes for the product and the response it has received has been tremendous – over and above our expectations. The rod represents a clear step forward in the Marksman coarse series.”
Hardy & Greys very nearly chalked up a double – it was commended in the Fly Rod section for the Hardy Zenith Two-Handed model.
Sage Director of Sales, Marc Bale, told Angling International that he was delighted by the Best Fly Rod Award in another hard-fought category.
“It’s very gratifying to win this award. It’s an incredibly competitive world out there – no less for high performance fly rods. So to win at EFTTEX not only validates a lot of hard work, it paves the way for the product launch in August.”
Commended in the category was the Tsuda Hayate rod.
