An aggressive six-month recruitment policy is helping Grundéns build a strong position in the fishing industry, says the leading producer of apparel and footwear.
The company has added 13 new team members globally since the start of this year, six of them in key positions designed to expand the brand into additional market segments.
Grundéns’ growth objectives and a strategic five-year vision have created opportunities for the company to add to its talent pool, explained CEO David Mellon.
“Grundéns has always valued passionate, creative employees and that has been a significant factor in its success,” said Mellon. “We are continuing to build an incredible brand by bringing even more talent and skill to this team.
“We have hired some of the top talent in the fishing and outdoor industries into key roles that will build the Grundéns brand into an operational powerhouse. All of these excellent people are already settled into our Poulsbo headquarters and are operating at a high level.”
The new appointments include Ben Crook, a former National Sales Manager at Far Bank Enterprises, as Vice President of Sales. Crook was most recently Strategic Accounts Manager at Amer Sports.
Curtis Graves, Director of Product Research and Development, has past experience in the fishing industry as Category Manager for waders, outerwear and technical apparel with Simms Fishing Products. He is now leading the development of new products scheduled for Spring 2020.
Brian Krezel, formerly of Simms, is Director of Design, while Aaron Azevedo has filled the role of Director of Sourcing and Product Development after extensive experience in that field.
John Dees previously worked with David Mellon at Black Diamond Equipment for six years and was most recently CEO at OSIA Medical before rejoining Mellon at Grundéns as Chief Operating Officer.
Grundéns, which operates globally from Boras in Sweden and Poulsbo in Washington, made its EFTTEX debut last year and returns to this month’s show looking for new dealers in the EU.
