It was a case of ‘goodbye’ and ‘hello’ from Pure Fishing’s Cat McGinty and Al Cross at last week’s EFTTEX.
McGinty is vacating her role as Global Marketing Manager, while newcomer Cross was just five days into his position as European Marketing Manager when the trade show opened its doors on Thursday.
Having joined Hardy & Greys in Alnwick in 2010, McGinty occupied the brand’s Digital Marketing Manager and Marketing Manager roles before being given global responsibility following the company’s acquisition by Pure Fishing. She is now moving on to become Project Manager at a web design business in nearby Newcastle.
“I have really enjoyed my time in the company and helping make the transition under Pure Fishing’s ownership,” McGinty told Angling International. “However, web design and development is a love of mine and I am looking forward to working in that field.”
Cross, who comes from the drinks industry, grew up fishing from the beaches of Yorkshire with his father and was clearly reveling in the atmosphere as visitors poured through the doors of the Rai Exhibition Centre, in Amsterdam, on the first day of the big show.
“This is a great introduction to the industry,” he said. “I may only be days into the role, but I have already been extremely impressed by the effort and passion of the people at Pure Fishing. We have some very exciting things planned.”
