Bass Pro Shops, the leading US fishing and hunting retail chain, has announced plans to open a new destination outlet in West Virginia, which will include a first-of-its kind five storey boat tower display,
The impressive structure will house craft from Bass Pro’s White River Marine Group boat brands, Tracker, Nitro, Sun Tracker, Regency and Tahoe alongside a wide selection of its off-road ATV’s.
“West Virginia, the Monongahela River area and nearby southwestern Pennsylvania are some of the best regions in the country for fishing, hunting and outdoor recreation,” said Bass Pro founder and owner, Johnny Morris. “We are thrilled to be part of this fantastic new development in Morgantown and look forward to bringing our iconic outdoor brands, including Bass Pro, Cabela’s and Tracker boats, to outdoor enthusiasts in the area.”
As well as offering fishing and hunting equipment, the retail location will sell gear and clothing for other outdoor-related activities.
Conservation will play an important role in the store’s mission as will events staged throughout the year aimed at connecting new audiences – particularly the younger generation – to the outdoors. Hands-on demonstrations and interactive activities will be offered, such as ‘Gone Fishing’, an annual event that aims to introduce families to the sport through catch-and-release ponds, casting games and free angling seminars.
More than 100,000 children caught a fish at Bass Pro Shop events last year alone.
Construction timing and an opening date for the destination will be announced in the next month.
