A former commander of a US Navy battleship targeted by a terrorist attack before 9/11 will be the keynote speaker at the ICAST Industry Breakfast.
Commander Kirk Lippold was in command of the USS Cole when it was attacked by the deadly al Qaeda in 2000, 11 months before the devastating 9/11 atrocity in New York. His team training prior to the incident and unflappable leadership galvanised his crew into action, resulting in the saving of lives and the ship.
An engaged leader, hands-on crisis management practitioner and a go-to global security expert for major news networks, Lippold demonstrates the foundation for team success and time-critical decisions based on integrity.
The State of the Industry Breakfast is one of the most important business events for the US recreational fishing industry where information is shared about policies and management decisions that can impact business.
It will also be an opportunity to hear from the American Sportfishing Association’s new President, Glenn Hughes.
Additional breakfast speakers are Kirk Immens, President of Sportco Marketing, Inc. and ASA Board of Directors Chairman, and Frank Peterson, President and CEO of the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF).
