Richard ‘Dick’ Posey, the President and CEO of US rod manufacturer Lamiglas, has died aged 88.
He ran the company for more than 50 years and was a lifelong member of the American Sportfishing Association (ASA).
In a tribute to the industry veteran, the ASA said he had ‘a profound influence on the sportfishing industry’. He served on the Association’s board of directors, various committees and countless advocacy groups throughout the country.
It was in 1965 that Posey invested in a small business building fibreglass blanks and Lamiglas Inc. quickly became recognised as an industry leader in premium quality rods. He was to spend half a century at its helm.
Posey died at his home in Vancouver, Washington, and is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Ellen, sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
