The new Buchanan eyewear from Flying Fisherman has been named after a favourite fishing destination off Islamadora.

The Florida Keys is home to some of the best, most experienced sportfishing guides in the world, men who spend vast amounts of time on the water in all kinds of light conditions.

So when it comes to designing and field-testing its products, Florida eyewear company, Flying Fisherman, located in Islamorada in the heart of the Keys, knowswho to talk to.

The company has forged a strong bond with sportfishing professionals since it was founded more than 30 years ago – and founders Pat and Linda Sheldon are proud to say that their sunglasses are designed ‘by fishermen for fishermen’.

“Our aim has always been to provide quality but affordable polarised eyewear for sportfishing enthusiasts and professionals,” said Vice President Linda.

“And who better to work with than guys who make their living on the water. They are putting our products to the test daily. It’s the reason we have been dubbed ‘the pro’s choice.’ “

One of the latest sunglass models to emerge from this prolific pool of expertise is the Buchanan, named after Buchanan Bank, a favourite fishing destination off Islamadora.

Emphasis on this 2015 model is on a light-weight, polycarbonate frame that gives wrap-around protection. Temple pads and nose pads prevent slipping and the AcuTint lens colouring system eliminates glare and enhances colour contrast.

The Buchanan is available in three frame and lens options – Crystal Gunmetal with smoke lenses, Crystal Gunmetal with copper lenses and Matte Black with high contrast yellow amber lenses. AcuTint also blocks 100% of harmful UV rays.

“By combining this quality with exceptional pricing we expect the Buchanan to be a top seller for 2015,” said Linda Sheldon.

Flying Fisherman also market Passport travel rods for spinning and fly fishing, Sunbandit protective headwear and performance T-shirts.
