Florida’s Fishbites is fighting for worldwide sales

Florida lure brand Fishbites scored a knockout at last month’s ICAST when it introduced its new Fight Club soft lures.

New products that go beyond fresh colours and sizes can be difficult to find at the show, but Fishbites believes that its new range more than meets the criteria. The brand is part of Carr Specialty Baits which, since its formation 18 years ago, has sought to differentiate its products through ‘no stink’ bait formulations, produced by Fishbites inventor and marine biologist Dr Bill Carr.

Carr’s creations became go-to baits for surf and pier anglers along the Gulf and Atlantic coasts. Now the company is extending its line of scent-based baits with the Fight Club range, a highly durable, biodegradable line complemented by a series of jig heads available under the same banner.

“Fight Club was first introduced at ICAST year, but the range is only now getting into stores we want them in. These include Walmart and Bass Pro,” said ProStaff Director Brett Burford. “We are getting enquiries from Australia, South Africa and South East Asia and further development of our export business is in the works.”

Carr Specialty Baits is based in St Augustine and makes its products in America.
