Flambeau, the worldwide manufacturer of tackle storage systems, has appointed Dennett Outdoor as it new UK distributor.
Dennett, based in Co. Tyrone, will handle distribution for the whole of the UK and Ireland and expects to have the first Flambeau product in February.
Aaron Gamble, co-director of Dennett with his cousin Mark, told Angling International that the deal made a great fit for both parties.
“Flambeau fills a space in our range and complements our existing brands,” he explained. “We sold a very small selection of Flambeau products around six or seven years ago, but to have the full range is a very exciting prospect.
“There is an opportunity to tidy up the pricing and give the shops real confidence in the brand. We feel there is very strong potential.”
Gamble explained that the agreement came about following an exploratory telephone call from Flambeau’s recently-appointed Outdoor Business Manager, Craig Wood.
As reported exclusively in the October 8th edition of Communiqué Online, Wood moved to Flambeau from Rapala after being attracted by the company’s ambitions in the fishing market.
One of Wood’s priorities is to restructure Flambeau’s European distribution network by agreeing exclusive deals in each country. A number of other distribution agreements are likely to be announced soon, he said this week.
The agreement with Dennett also includes exclusive distribution of Flambeau’s shooting products in Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
