Fresh from EFTTEX and ICAST, tackle storage specialist Flambeau has reacted swiftly to capitalise on the growing popularity of umbrella rigs by introducing an Umbrella Rig Storage System.
The company has added the system to its Tuff Tainer® family of utility boxes, saying: “Castable umbrellas are one of the hottest trends in bass fishing today. While there is no doubt on their effectiveness, the storage of these rigs with their long wires and lures has been challenging for most tackle systems. The new 3009UM Umbrella Storage System is ideal for rigs and hooks. It features three long compartments with adjustable dividers for extra tackle storage.”
The 3009UM also uses Flambeau’s Zerust® anti-corrosion technology. A special polymer in the plastic emits a harmless vapour into the interior of the box, which protects metal surfaces from rusting. It is said to keep rigs and hooks corrosion-free for up to five years.
Flambeau’s Outdoors Business Manager in Europe, Damien Collett, attended both major shows. He says: “EFTTEX was invaluable for meeting existing customers and securing new orders from them. I was heartened to see more retailers there and hope that trend continues. Influencing retailers is a key part of our strategy going forwards.
“ICAST was good for reaching out to customers in other parts of the world such as South America and even Russia.”
Flambeau also joined the long list of donors that contributed to this year’s EFTTEX charity, the French-based Pêche Plaisir Handi-Pêche. “We were happy to contribute,” added Collett.
