Fishpond uses recycled material in 2015 launches

Following the success of its CYCLEPOND material, US company Fishpond is using the fabric for many more products in its luggage, gear bags and pack ranges for 2015.
The new material is made from recycled commercial fishing nets and is reshaped into a durable, waterproof substance that is ideal for fishing bags and packs.
The Westwater Roll Top Backpack is a completely submersible pack that combines the functionality of a roll top dry bag design with the convenience of a backpack, through adjustable straps and a waist strap. The Westwater won the best eco-friendly product award at the IFTD show in Orlando in July.
The Delta Sling Pack features a new design inspired by the military. It can be easily switched between shoulders and the expansive storage compartments are designed to take everything needed for a day’s fishing. The Delta Sling Pack also impressed dealers and the media at the IFTD show, winning the top award in the best chest pack/vest category.
A waxed canvas fabric gives the River Bank Backpack an old school look, but the CYCLEPOND interior is very much new school. It contains a padded Velcro laptop slot, plenty of exterior zippered pockets and a padded back panel.
Following its acquisition of Nomad nets last year, Fishpond is introducing three new net sizes – the Nomad El Jefe (41.5 inches long), Nomad El Jefe Grande (52.4 inches) and the Nomad Native (25.5 inches). Head size for both the El Jefe and the El Jefe Grande is 13 inches by 21.75 inches, while head size for the Native is 8.5 inches by 17 inches.
