The acting CEO of fast-growing UK retailer Fishing Republic has left the company after completing a comprehensive appraisal of all its operations.
Chris Griffin took over from CEO Stephen Gross amid a number of Board changes in November following a ‘significant deterioration’ in trading. During his short time with the north of England-based business he has introduced a number of organisational and operational changes including a significant strengthening of the new management team.
His review also focused on the business’s e-commerce operations to accelerate developments in what it calls a ‘critical’ area.
At the time of going to press, the Board has started a recruitment process for a new CEO.
The group reported a successful end of year trading in line with management expectations and forecast revenues for the year to be around £9 million. However, as previously revealed, it is set to record an overall loss for the period.
