Fishing Republic appoints new Chief Operating Officer

One of the UK’s fastest-growing fishing tackle retailers has a new man at the helm.
Fishing Republic has announced the appointment of Stephen Kyriacou as Chief Operating Officer. Since December he has been coordinating various operational changes at the company put in place following an organisational review and has been leading the new management team put in place to implement the operational improvement plan.
Following a ‘significant deterioration’ in trading towards the end of last year, Chris Griffin was brought in as CEO on a temporary basis to conduct a strategic review of the business. He replaced founder, Steve Gross, who stepped down, but remains on the Board.
Kyriacou has over 20 years’ experience in delivering change management programmes, including for the divisions of major organisations that include Primark, Barclays Bank, Morrisons and BT. He joined Fishing Republic from Primark, where he was Programme Director for Oracle Retail and Financials.
