FirstDart files complaint against DSM Dyneema
Line maker, FirstDart Fishing Tackle, has today filed a complaint against DSM Dyneema in a US court.
The action against the global conglomerate was triggered last year following a press release in which DSM Dyneema claimed action had been taken against FirstDart for infringement of its trademark at a show in China.
FirstDart has refuted the allegation that preventative action relating to the misuse of the Dyneema® trademark was taken against it during the 2011 Fishing Show which was held in Langfang, Heibei province
A spokesman for FirstDart said: “Following the unfounded allegations made by DSM in its press release of November 8 2011, we and our attorneys have on numerous occasions attempted to contact DSM and have it remedy the harm caused by its false and misleading statements to the public.
“DSM has failed to respond substantively to our letters and inquiries. While we hoped to avoid time consuming and expensive litigation, DSM’s refusal to engage FirstDart in substantive discussions over these issues leaves us with no alternative other than to seek the assistance of the courts.”
