First look at the new Mikado Baltic Cod ALCV 30 reel

New for 2012 from Mikado is the Mikado Baltic Cod ALCV 30. Designed with a left handle, it is ideal for cod fishing, as its name suggests, but also for heavy trolling with a downrigger.

The Mikado Baltic Cod ALCV 30 is equipped with five non-corrosion ball bearings. Its rigid supporting frame and spool have been ground from duralumin for extra strength. The handle’s length can be adjusted to increase power when retrieving while the 6.2:1 gear ratio helps when fishing in deep waters.

Its makers say the Baltic Cod ALCV 30 is equipped with a ‘perfect’ oscillating system, a specially reinforced main axle and ‘extremely precise’ brake system.

Mikado is famous for its Fishunter lure range. Its newest lures for 2012 can be viewed in the January Lures Special of Angling International. It has also launched a new range of ‘professional standard’ jig heads.
