Official figures just released confirm Carp Italy’s status as one of Europe’s most important specialist shows. The two-day event attracted 13,500 consumers, a 10% increase on last year.
“It is the first and most important fishing event of the year in Italy,” said Luca Foroni, owner of retail store and mail order business, La Mincio. “Anglers cannot wait to buy the latest products from the main brands.
“There was a fear that Italy’s financial crisis could compromise the show, but the numbers demonstrate that people still want to go fishing. However, they have less money and bought more cheaper accessories compared to previous years.”
Fox, Nash, Korda, Pure Fishing, CC Moore, Mainline and Solar were the ‘headline’ carp brands in the Fiera Millenaria in Gonzaga, some represented by their Italian distributors.
“The show occupied a larger exhibition area and every brand took advantage of the opportunity to launch new products for the coming season,” added Foroni. “All the exhibitors agreed that this Carp Italy was the best ever.”
