After two years of phenomenal growth, French lure manufacturer Fiiish is ready for the great American challenge.
The young company, which was only formed three years ago and is famed for its award-winning Black Minnow, will be making its debut at ICAST in Orlando.
Since winning a prize at the Nantes sea fishing show in 2011, it has grown its distribution base to cover major regions across Europe. Now, co-founder Frédéric Orlach believes that America beckons for the company.
“We visited ICAST last year and were impressed by the event and wanted to be part of it. We looked carefully at all the innovative products on offer and realised that the Black Minnow and Crazy Sand Eel would not be out of their depth in such exalted company.
“This realisation – alongside discussions with specialists in their field – convinced us that the time is right. That view was also bolstered by a successful testing session last October in Cape Cod, in Massachusetts.
“An example of the reaction we received was when we showed the Black Minnow to the CEO of a specialised media group. I remember seeing his eyes widening in amazement. He then told me there was no such product in the US – that was enough for me.
“Fishing is a way of life for Americans and Fiiish shares that vision and wants to be part of that and offer products to the market that are innovative, useful and fun. I can think of no better place to deliver our ideas.”
