The Ponty Carp Show in Hungary celebrates its tenth anniversary next month with the addition of new areas for different types of fishing.
The show returns to HungExpo in Budapest, the venue for last year’s EFTTEX, with separated areas for feeder and predator fishermen.
This year’s event will house more than 100 exhibitors from ten different countries in HungExpo’s 11,000sqm pavilion A. The show’s awards have also been expanded to 20 categories.
Brands represented include Shimano, Carp Spirit, Sufix, Mustad, Korda, Energofish, Gamakatsu, Mikado, Okuma, Fox and Prologic.
Those represented in the ‘Feeder Festival’ include Guru, Matrix, Preston, Sasame and Maruto, while the ‘Predator Parade’ includes Daiwa, Salmo, Cuda, Westin, Fiiish and Saenger.
“All the big brands will be there,” said Sujkó Sándor, Product Manager for Energofish. “The show is bigger and better every year and is now the only one in the Autumn period.”
Having attracted almost 12,000 visitors in 2017, the organisers are expecting a record attendance for an event that drew only a few hundred people when it launched in a 1,000sqm hall in Budakalasz in 2009.
The show moved to Budaörs the following year, but further expansion led to its transfer to Budapest in 2013 and the addition of a third day, which heralded a 20% increase in visitors.
Dates for this year’s show are November 9th, 10th and 11th. Further details at www.pontyshow.hu
