Energofish director: EFTTA needs more eastern European voices
Eastern Europe is set to have more representation on the EFTTA Board next year.
Following an impassioned plea by Istvan Pal (pictured), head of leading Hungarian fishing tackle manufacturer, Energofish, the Board has agreed to appoint another member from the region. It currently has only Gennadi Zharkov from the Russian Federation as its sole spokesperson.
Pal told delegates at the association’s Annual General Assembly (AGA) that eastern Europe has more than ten million anglers but did not have an adequate voice on the EFTTA Board. “We are a growing part of Europe and are ready to help EFTTA flourish in the area.”
EFTTA General Manager Janet Doyle told the meeting that it would welcome nominations from the region and that it had an upcoming vacancy that would be filled at the next AGA.
