EFTTEX 2011 Winners

Two of the industry’s biggest manufacturers each celebrated double wins at the 2011 EFTTEX Best New Product Awards in Amsterdam. Rapala proved the value of heavy investment outside the lures market by winning the Best New Fishing Apparel Award for its Eco-Wear Reflection Waders and the Best New Monofilament Line Award for its Sufix Synergy Carp Line. Shimano doubled up with wins in the Best New Fixed Spool and the Best New Braided Line categories with its new Aero Technium Msg and Power Pro Super 8 Slick.
Hardy and Savage Gear also came close to double successes. Hardy won the Best New Rod award for its new Hardy Marksman Supero but narrowly lost in the Best New Fly Rod category to the Sage One. Savage Gear’s Soft4Play 25cm was acclaimed as the best soft lure at the show and its Larvea 55 SS was commended in the Best New Hard Lure category behind the winning lure, the Strike Pro Twin Minnow. More lures destined for commercial success in the next 12 months are Hart’s Metal Vib, winner of the Best New Metal Lure Award, and Wake’s Soft Jigwobbler, which was commended twice in Amsterdam.
