Best New Fly Rod
How much of a breakthrough technology is Sintrix? Hardy believes it is the most important in its history – and it has the rod range to back up its claim. Made using Sintrix and unveiled to the European market at EFTTEX 2011, the Hardy Artisan Sintrix Fly Rod Range is said to be the finest rod range ever to come out of the company’s Alnwick factory in the UK.
Meanwhile, US competitor Sage is equally confident about the powers of its own hi-tech new fly rod. The Sage ONE is the first precision casting instrument built to take advantage of the company’s groundbreaking Konnetic Technology. Says Sage: “The ONE rod offers a more fluid transmission of energy from the arm to the fly. The eye sees the cast it wants to make and it is translated to the hand and through the rod instantaneously.”
Competition promises to be fierce, however. UK specialist Snowbee has launched its new Snowbee Prestige Switch Rod; Lamiglas has introduced its Lamiglas Infinity ISI 9108; while at the other end of the technology scale, Rudi Heger has moved to introduce an exclusive range of Zierhut Bamboo Fly Rods.
