EFTTA clarifies Amsterdam EFTTEX venue confusion

EFTTA has clarified the situation regarding Amsterdam as a future location for its annual EFTTEX trade show.
Recognising that the Dutch city is a favourite with exhibitors – many of whom would like it held there every year – the association announced last year that it would be the show’s location every two years. Different venues would be chosen in intervening years.
However, EFTTA has now confirmed that that is not the case. “Amsterdam is the most expensive venue that we use and going there invariably means EFTTA makes a financial loss,” said Janet Doyle, General Manager of organising company, Resolutions Events.
“So unfortunately, going there every other year would not be financially viable for EFTTA.
“We will return to Amsterdam in 2018, but no further contracts with the RAI have been signed. We are in Budapest for 2017 and I’m looking at potential venues for 2019 and 2020.
“Feedback from the show continues to top Amsterdam as the most popular venue. With that in mind we may at some point in the future approach the RAI Exhibition Centre, but again this is not a definite.”
