Donn Schaible, former Wright & McGill CEO, dies

Donn Schaible, long-time CEO of Wright & McGill and former American Sportfishing Association (ASA) Board member, has died.
Schaible was first CFO and then President of Wright & McGill from 1998. He stepped down from his position on December 31st, 2017, but remained at the company as advisor to the executive team.
“Donn’s leadership, vision and commitment to all employees allowed the company to experience strong growth and profitability over his near 20-year tenure,” said a statement from Wright & McGill Co. “These qualities extended beyond our company and into our community.
“His work ethic and commitment to the fishing industry was exemplary and impactful as he also served on the Board of the ASA. The entire Wright & McGill family is saddened by his passing and will remember him as the great leader that he was.”
Schaible, who served on a number of other boards, was replaced as Wright & McGill President by Michael Jackson in January this year. He died at his hometown of Evergreen, Colorado, and is survived by his wife, son, daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter.
