The tools category of the tackle industry has gained considerable momentum in recent years, a fact further evidenced by US manufacturer Danco Sports at ICAST. Danco, 20 years old this year, exhibited at the show for the first time to introduce its new-for-this-year tournament series of premio titanium pliers.
The line is designed to provide anglers with “probably the best fishing pliers in the world at a price they can afford”, says the Florida company.
“We are here to build on our gathering momentum and make a bigger movement in the market place,” said Marketing Manager, Craig McMicken. “We are growing very fast and our development into titanium this year with the premio pliers is going to accelerate that.”
The lightweight premio pliers start at less than 4oz and come in three sizes with a leather holster and elastic lanyard. They also feature cobalt titanium cutters and are backed with a lifetime guarantee.
“By running each part through our CNC machines at incredibly slow speeds and honing them to perfection we have increased the feel, fit and finish to a new quality level,” added McMicken.
Danco was founded by Norwegian Nils Stenhoj, well known as the creator of the Sabiki Bait Stik. The company also markets a range of fillet knives. It ships products to Australia and South America and is looking at the potential for growing its export business. Premio aluminium pliers will be available in stores from November 1st this year.
