Daiwa extends operations in eastern Europe
Daiwa has added to its growing business in eastern Europe by setting up a direct sales operation in Croatia and Slovakia.
The company already has sales reps in Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic and is mounting a big push into eastern Europe and Russia.
Now, following the change of a previous distribution arrangement, it has appointed a sales rep to operate across the two sales territories. Marketing is being handled from the Budapest office with product coming from Daiwa Cormoran’s German warehouse.
“We have started a little later than we hoped, but it was important to find the right man and to set up the operation properly,” said Tristan Sigulla, Daiwa’s Eastern European Sales Manager. “It is very early days for the operation and we will have one salesman for the time being. Hopefully sales in these territories will justify a bigger team in the future.
“Croatia is a growing sea fishing market and we are working on a range to serve the region’s many sea anglers.
“In the long term, it would make sense to group former Yugoslavia countries and serve these as one market.”
Daiwa’s Russian business has recently transferred form the company’s HQ in Japan to Daiwa-Cormoran in Germany where it has come under the wing of the Russian speaking Tristan Sigulla.
