Magdalena Bay stretches for 31 miles along Mexico’s Baja California Sur coast and is a haven for sportfishermen all year round.
Protected from the Pacific Ocean by barrier islands, it is also the mating ground for California’s grey whales in the winter. And it is a backdrop that inspired Costa to name its newest sunglass style after the stunning location.
The Mag Bay has been designed to incorporate comfort features such as durable co-injected moulded nylon frames, hypoallergenic non-slip nose pads and temple tips and sturdy optical spring hinges for all-day ‘forget they’re on’ fit.
It has an extra large rectangular-shaped frame and is available in colours that include Tortoise, Shiny Black, Matte Sunset Fade and Wood Fade.
Like all Costa sunglasses it can be customised in the brand’s full array of patented colour-enhancing polarised 580™ lenses which filters out harsh yellow and harmful high-energy ultraviolet blue light. This also enhances reds, blues and greens, producing better contrast and definition while reducing eye fatigue.
Costa 580 lenses come in either glass or impact resistant polycarbonate and colour options include Gray, Copper, Amber, Sunrise, Blue Mirror, Green Mirror and Silver Mirror. Mag Bay is also available in customised Rx sun lenses.
“Mag Bay is a core Costa style in an extra large fitting,” said Chas MacDonald, President of Costa. “It’s a classic design with all the performance technology elements anglers need to see through the water more clearly.”
