Costa Sunglasses has introduced three new styles for 2013 – its 30th anniversary – Tuna Alley, Saltbreak and Cat Cay.
Tuna Alley offers a large wrap-around fit to protect against outside glare. It features front frame vents to alleviate lens fogging as well as a non-slip interior lining to keep them comfortably in place all day.
They come in tortoise, matte black, white, crystal and the new blackout frame colours in the full spectrum of patented Costa 580™ lenses. The retail price starts at $169.
The Saltbreak provides a large frame fit with performance features that include a non-slip interior lining and temple tips for a ‘forget they’re on’ fit. They are available in tortoise, matte black, silver, white and blackout. Retail starts at $179.
Named after an island near Bimini that is known as the birthplace of bluefin tuna fishing, the Cat Cay is said to combine superior performance with the ultimate in value ¬– they start at $129. Features include front frame vents, non-slip nose pads and an open slot in the sunglass arms to attach a gripper retainer cord.
It comes in tortoise, shiny black and blackout and sky frame colours.
Each of the new styles are part of Costa’s core performance sunglass category with signature features such as practically indestructible co-moulded injected nylon frames, sturdy integral hinges and a lifetime guarantee against manufacturer defects.
All Costa’s sunglasses are polarised and protected against UVA and UVB rays. The 580 lens technology offers ‘unparalleled’ polarisation and razor sharp clarity by blocking yellow light at 580 nanometre from entering the eye. The lenses are available in optically-ground glass (580G) or lightweight, impact-resistant polycarbonate (580P).
Lens colours include gray, copper, amber, sunrise, and blue, green and silver mirror.
The three new sunglasses are available with Costa’s authentic prescription (Rx) sun lenses, creating one of the sharpest and most clear Rx sunglasses on the market today. The Rx sunglasses come with a one year warranty.
“It’s our 30th anniversary and we are pulling out all the stops to celebrate,” said Chas MacDonald, President of Costa. “We will introduce 13 new styles, including these three new performance sunglasses, and launch 15 new frame colour, like blackout and Realtree AP™ camo, and several translucent hues.
“The Rx sun lens capacity will be increased and we are expanding our apparel line. 2013 is shaping up to be Costa’s biggest lure.”
